It’s not every day Lincoln sees a huge increase in sales but thus far, in 2016, that’s exactly what happened. The luxury brand has already exceeded its sales for all of 2015, making 2016 a major milestone. What’s the driving force behind this incredible surge in sales? As it turns out, China has taken a liking to the American luxury brand.

In total, Lincoln sold 11,630 vehicles in China in 2015. In comparison, Lincoln has sold more than 12,000 vehicles through June of this year. That’s a 109% increase in year-over-year sales, making it one of the top luxury brands in China.

“Lincoln will continue to attract China’s new generation of luxury customers as we consistently deliver the customized services of the Lincoln Way even as we expand our dealership network,” said Amy Marentic, president of Lincoln China.

Currently, Lincoln sells the MKZ, MKX, MKZ, and Navigator while the Continental will hit the Chinese market later this year. Lincoln’s success isn’t limited to China though.

In the United States, Lincoln’s sales are up 13% while the overall luxury segment has seen a 2% decrease in sales. If the trend continues, China could overtake America has Lincoln’s largest market.

Here at Palmetto Ford, we’re happy to see the Lincoln luxury brand hitting major milestones in China!
