If you’ve ever wanted to see 80,000 lb of oysters in the same place, then the 35th Lowcountry Oyster Festival is the place to be! Now in its 35th year, the Lowcountry Oyster Festival is the largest in the world. The event features everything from live music to oyster eating contests. Trust us when we say this is an event you don’t want to miss out on!
Named one of the “top 20 events in the southeast” by the Southeastern Tourism Society, the Lowcountry Oyster Festival features Oyster Shucking and Oyster Eating contests of the likes you’ve probably never seen before.
In addition to spectating the contests, attendees will enjoy live music, plenty of wine, a wonderful selection of beers, and a food court that features delicacies from local restaurants—one of Palmetto Ford’s favorite features. A children’s area is available for use and ensures that kids can have a fun time at the festival while staying out of harm’s way.
Proceeds from the Lowcountry Oyster Festival will benefit The Ronald McDonald House, Hollings Cancer Center, Charleston Country Schools Science Materials and Resource Center, and Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Pay a visit to Boone Hall Plantation on January 28th to enjoy some fresh oysters and support a good cause!
