Things to Do Around Charleston this September

This September, venture out with the family or friends to enjoy the fall weather and take advantage of local community events happening all around Charleston. Below are a few Charleston-area celebrations that we recommend.

  • Cast-Off Fishing Tournaments on the Mount Pleasant and Folly Beach Piers: On Sept. 1, head to the Mount Pleasant Pier to take part in a friendly fishing tournament. On Sept. 29, the tournament takes place at Folly Beach Pier.Charleston
  • Wine Down Wednesdays at Old Towne Creek County Park: For a relaxing night out with friends, head to the Old Towne Creek County Park on Sept. 5 and Sept. 9 to enjoy tasty local food, wine, and live music.
  • Charleston Restaurant Week: This year, Charleston Restaurant Week takes place Sept. 5-16 and showcases delicious local fare, from quick bites to fine dining. Come out to taste the local flavors! Charleston Beer Week takes place concurrently from Sept. 7-15, and you won’t want to miss it.
  • MOJA Arts Festival: Taking place from Sept. 27 to Oct. 7, the MOJA Arts Festival is a celebration of African-American and Caribbean Arts. The festival will feature live music, dance, theatre, visual arts galleries, and more. Many of the events are free, making it very family-friendly.
