The all-new Ford GT has done more than just turn heads at the 2015 North American International Auto Show where it was first unveiled. It’s already winning awards and starting conversations everywhere.
The ultra-high-performance supercar is a technological powerhouse with its 600+ horsepower twin-turbocharged EcoBoost performance, advanced aerodynamic efficiency, and lightweight carbon fiber construction. This has earned it the esteemed EyesOn Design Award for best production vehicle, which honors the best vehicles making global debuts in Detroit.
It has also been announced that the new Ford GT would be the featured cover car for Forza Motorsport 6, the next installment of the acclaimed racing simulation franchise debuting exclusively on Xbox One. The series is one of the most played next-gen racing games on the console, and will no doubt bring even more attention to the already-popular car.
Speculations are everywhere, though one stands out above all: will the new Ford GT race at Le Mans? After all, the original GT40 brought Ford four consecutive victories at the prestigious race in the 60s, including a dominant one-two-three finish in 1966, and the automaker has been suspicious dodgy on the whole matter.
The new Ford GT will no doubt continue to spark conversation and speculation everywhere. Stay tuned to Palmetto Ford for all the latest news!
