In a ceremony at the Concours d’Elegance of America in Michigan, the Ford GT was honored during the 14th annual North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards. The GT took home top honors, including the prestigious Most Significant Concept Vehicle of 2015 award.
“The Ford GT is already one of the all-time great designs, with styling that is simultaneously breathtaking and aerodynamically functional,” said juror Dan Carney. “A car for the ages.”
By being named the Most Significant Concept Vehicle of 2015, the GT posted the top overall score between three categories: Concept Car, Concept Truck, and Production Preview Concept.
It’s Ford’s second time winning the top award at the North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards; the automaker also won in 2006 for the Reflex Concept.
The GT also was named the 2015 Production Preview Concept of the Year in Ford’s 20th time as a finalist in the category and fifth category victory.
