Consumer preferences are constantly evolving, changing, and progressing. It is up to auto manufacturers to harness those preferences, and offer the kinds of vehicles people want, when they want them. J.D. Power recently released its 2015 U.S. Avoider Study, which measures which factors are most important to car shoppers. The study found that a vehicle’s exterior and interior design are most highly considered by shoppers (30% of shoppers would avoid a vehicle based on exterior design alone, while 17% would move on to the next vehicle if they did not like the interior design). As such, interior design has become a major consideration for Ford’s designers and engineers.

“Vehicle interiors have witnessed one of the biggest evolutions across the history of cars in recent years,” said Raj Nair, Ford Motor Company group vice president, Global Product Development. “Not only have we introduced a great deal of useful new technology into our cars and trucks, we consistently are adding better materials, improved design and increased features across the board, from high-end vehicles to entry-level segments.”

Not just Ford’s appealing interior designs are attracting new Ford customers. Car shoppers consider fuel efficiency to be the most influential reason for choosing one car over another. Thanks to Ford’s EcoBoost engine lineup, shoppers can hardly justify passing up a Ford vehicle.
