We all love the Lincoln commercials that Matthew McConaughey has starred in so far. There’s even more to love about the new Lincoln Continental ad campaign.
Matthew McConaughey, star of the “That’s Continental” ad campaign, wows in the new “Entrance” TV spot. This commercial impresses not only with its star power, but with its scenery, too. It was shot in the breathtaking city of Reykjavic, Iceland, a glacial wonderland.
“A car as iconic as Continental could only be shot in a unique locale – one not familiar to viewers,” said John Emmert, group marketing manager at The Lincoln Motor Company.
All Lincoln ads with Matthew McConaughey were directed by Wally Pfister, who has worked on “The Dark Night,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” and “Inception.”
McConaughey takes a back seat, literally, in the “Crafted” ad. He rides in luxury as the rear seat amenities of the Continental provide features like a luxurious chauffeur switch and access to the movement of the front passenger seat.
Check out “Crafted” to admire McConaughey and the Continental.
You might not be driving your new Continental in Iceland, and you might not be riding with Matthew McConaughey in the back seat, but you are sure to love this car. Come down to Palmetto Ford Lincoln today to check it out.

When Motor Trend chooses any of their “Of the Year” awards, they don’t take it lightly. It’s not just about a couple of judges picking their favorite vehicle. It’s about scrutinizing each entry with tests of engineering, strength, safety and value. So while it’s no wonder that the 2017 Super Duty truck is the Motor Trend Truck of the Year, it’s no simple victory either.
Part of what makes the 2017 Ford Super Duty stand out among its competitors is a combination of strength and smart features. The Ford Super Duty is made to be used for expert towing. Its towing power alone earned it some extra points. While the Ford F-350 stands out as the biggest and baddest, the F-250 is no modest contender, either. It offers up 430 lb-ft of torque, a 2,930 payload capacity and a 12,500 towing capacity.
The F-250 Super Duty truck was ranked high on the Motor Trend list not only for its power, but for its efficiency and its safety. The latter impressed the judges, thanks to an array of features like collision warning and trailer sway control. From top to bottom, inside and out, the 2017 Super Duty earned its Motor Trend Truck of the Year award.

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, November is the perfect month to be thankful. So, why not be thankful for a Ford truck? Ford has a long legacy of offering dependable and unbeatable capabilities, making it the best-selling pickup truck for decades. This means there are many reasons why this brand’s truck should be the top on your list of choices. Here are just a few reasons why you should be thankful for your Ford truck.
- Unbeatable power. No matter the type of power you need, Ford trucks has an engine option for you. There are four engine types available, including a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 for better gas mileage, a 5.0-liter V8 for pure power, a 3.5-liter V6, or a 3.7-liter V6. Each of these engines has horsepower ranging from 282 hp to a whopping 385 hp.
- Better fuel efficiency. The Ford F-150 might be a full-size pickup, but it still offers some of the best fuel economy ratings in the business. The Ford F-150 scored an average of 26 highway and 19 mpg city with the EcoBoost engine. While this number fluctuates depending on the weight of the load you are carrying, it is still an impressive number in this segment.
- Parallel parking made easy. Parallel parking a pickup truck—especially one as large as the F-150—can be difficult, but Ford makes it a bit easier with its Parallel Parking Assist system. This available technology helps detect open parking spots as the truck drive past, and helps turn the wheel so the driver can get into the spot with ease. The F-150 is the only truck to offer this easy-to-use tech.
- Luxury interiors. A pickup truck might be built for hauling and towing, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be luxurious. The Ford F-150’s Lariat and Platinum trim levels are the perfect example of this. Each of these trims has a slew of luxurious features, including adaptive cruise control, leather seats, and innovative safety features.
5. Top-notch safety ratings. The F-150 has earned the highest possible five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It has also earned the highest “Good” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for all its Top Safety Pick standards.

While the rest of the country is preparing for winter cold and snow, South Carolina is ready for an entirely different type of weather. Since our great state doesn’t typically see heavy snow fall, the major form of inclement weather to be concerned about is the heavy rainfall of the annual hurricane season. From June through November, this season brings high levels of rain, which means you have to know how to drive in inclement weather. When the rain starts falling again, remember these driving tips to stay safe while out on the road.
Slow down. Wet roads make it more likely that your car will hydroplane, causing your vehicle to lift off the ground and drive on a layer of water. This is especially true at certain speeds. When the roads are wet, slow down by at least five or 10 miles an hour. If you find yourself hydroplaning, slow down until your vehicle makes contact with the road again.
Avoid flooded areas. Judging water’s depth can be difficult. What might seem like a shallow puddle could actually be significantly deeper. Because of this, it’s important to avoid flooded areas. If water is sucked into the air-intake valve and engine, then these components will stop working—and no one wants to be stuck in their car during a flood.
Feather the brakes. After going through a puddle, it’s important to feather the car’s brakes. This means to tap lightly on them. By doing this, any excess water will be removed from the brakes to keep them in working order.
Don’t tailgate. If roads are wet, then it takes longer for your vehicle to stop. Because of this, it’s important to leave plenty of distance between you and the car ahead of you—especially at top speeds. The normal distance you should be from the car in front of you at a low speed is about two car lengths. This should be doubled when driving in inclement weather.
The 2017 Ford Fusion Sport is one of the most exciting rides you can take in a mid-sized sedan. That’s in large part thanks to one very special engine that once had its home in another Ford favorite, the F-150. The 2.7 liter EcoBoost V6 engine boasts 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. Based on these numbers, you can imagine that the 2017 Ford Fusion Sport has quite a kick to its ride.
When you’re test driving the 2017 Ford Fusion Sport, there’s something delightfully surprising about getting comfortable behind the wheel and feeling the power of an F-150. The six-cylinder engine gives this mid-sized sedan an exceptionally quick run to 60 mph. You can choose between automatic and manual mode, depending on your preference, but the manual mode provides quick up-shifts to really give you that Sport feel.
The 2017 Ford Fusion Sport’s four-wheel drive successfully prevents torque steering and has a fine cornering force. Ford’s Continuously Controlled Damping suspension uses sensors to adjust suspension as needed. And while the Ford Fusion Sport works its magic to give a smooth ride with nice handling, active noise cancellation gives you a quiet ride, too. That is, unless you prefer to hear the power of the Ford Fusion Sport’s innerworkings, in which case you can hit the Sport Mode button and enjoy.
