If you have trouble sleeping, the summer months can bring with them some of the worst nights of your year. Warmer temperatures that keep you up coupled with fewer hours of dark make for a difficult night’s sleep.
Here are some summer sleep tips to help you out:
- Skip the flannel; get some quality, cotton sheets for your bed.
- Wear loose, cool clothing that will make it easier for you to cool down.
- If your home is a bit warmer than you would like, purchase a fan to aim towards you while you sleep.
- Develop a sleep schedule and stick to it; this will make it much easier to fall asleep on time.
- Get in the habit of a bedtime ritual (such as brushing your teeth, etc.), which will signal to your brain that bedtime is approaching.
- Be sure to stay hydrated, as higher temperatures can cause excess perspiration. You won’t want to wake up with a dry mouth after you’ve finally drifted off.

It looks like Londoners aren’t quite ready to handle the upcoming Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R, based on a clever social experiment devised by the Detroit automaker. One of these stunning models was placed inconspicuously in public in London, just to see how people would react.
Naturally, the passersby were very surprised, with many stopping to take selfies with the incredible vehicle. You can even watch a YouTube video of their reactions, here, thanks to Ford Europe’s official channel. The 2015 Ford Fiesta is called cool by Kelley Blue Book! Now, who would know cool better than Kelley?
Kelley Blue Book (KBB) recently named the 2015 Fiesta one of the coolest cars on the market, giving it a spot on the “10 Coolest Cars Under $18K” list. Thanks to its sporty hatchback design, sleek interior, and quick performance, it’s easy to see why the Fiesta beat out so many competitors.
According to KBB, cars were rated by “coolness,” which, admittedly, isn’t very scientific. Nonetheless, the editors at the prestigious auto magazine unanimously voted the 2015 Fiesta design to a top spot, saying it has a certain je ne sais quoi which sets it apart from competitors. This cool quality might have something to do with the European hatchback design, as well as the stylish new fascia.
The Fiesta is designed for people who want something practical, without sacrificing fun. The exterior is sporty, available in a range of colors so you can easily customize your model. The interior has an intuitive center console, soft-touch materials, and optional body-colored metallic accents.
Under the hood, the Fiesta has a 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder engine mated to a PowerShift six-speed automatic transmission. With 120 hp and 112 lb-ft of torque, the lightweight model can speed down the highway with ease. Plus, an optional EcoBoost engine provides up to 36 highway mpg.
Well, it’s true! The 2015 Ford Fiesta is cool. You just can’t argue with Kelley, but if you want to try, come into Palmetto Ford today in Charleston, SC. We’ll let you see the Fiestas in person!
Check out the newest alternative fuel to hit Ford, Compressed Natural Gas!
Ford recently announced another addition to their bi-fuel lineup and it’s none other than the F-150! The new alternative fuel Ford F-150 will allow truck enthusiasts to retain the power of a traditional pickup and save some money at the fuel pump.
For those seeking the more efficient F-150, it can be equipped with a special package that would allow its 5.0-liter V8 to run on either compressed natural gas (CNG) or propane. There’s no need to worry about the F-150’s power either, as it maintains the same tow and hauling ratings.
After adding the gaseous-fuel prep package to their available options, Ford will be the only manufacturer of a propane or CNG powered half-ton pickup truck. Ford continues to have the deepest lineup of CNG and propane capable vehicles including the new 2016 F-150, Super Duty trucks, Transit and Transit Connect.
If you’re ready to make the change to an alternative fuel vehicle now is the time! Come visit us at Palmetto Ford for more information today.
Here’s a picture of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford! Two great friends, with great histories!
The Ford Motor Company has a legacy of building quality, affordable cars with compelling style and mass-appeal. That was Henry Ford’s vision when he quit working for Thomas Edison and struck out on his own. Here we take a look at the cars that have built the Ford reputation and made it what it is today.
As the first car to ever roll off of an assembly line, the Ford Model T, or “Tin Lizzy”, grew to become so popular that for a time, they accounted for half the cars on the road. The next smash-hit from the Ford Motor Company was the Model A which went on to sell 4.5 million units before WWII. After the war, Ford built the Thunderbird with its iconic circle window, sleek lines and 5.1-liter engine. Then, it was 1964 when the Ford Mustang burst onto the scene in wild popularity.
Ford’s advances in truck design brought us such work-horses as the Bronco, F-Series, Jeep and Ranger. It is with pride we at Morristown Ford sell the cars of the Ford Motor Company because we believe in providing innovative styles, low-prices and customer-satisfaction that can’t be beat. Stop in today to see the Morristown Ford difference.
The 2015 Ford Transit six of nine van segments!
Ford won more Vincentric Best Fleet Value in America awards than any other manufacturer for 2015, racking up a whopping eleven awards in total.
This was thanks to the new 2015 Transit, America’s best-selling commercial van that has led Ford to its best first-quarter commercial sales performance since 1995.
Various configurations of the van were named as the best value for fleets in five out of Vincentric’s six full-size van categories, including best half, three-quarter-, and 1-ton cargo van, and best half- and 1-ton passenger van.
The 2015 Transit Connect XLT was also named the Best Fleet Value in the Mini Passenger Commercial Van category, and three additional models were honored with their own awards: the Taurus large sedan, the Explorer large crossover, and the Expedition large SUV.
That adds up to nine awards, with the remaining two earned by Ford’s Lincoln luxury division.
It’s going to be hard to beat eleven awards in a single year!
When you shop for a Ford, you know you’re looking at award winning inventory! Come on down to Palmetto in Charleston, SC to check them out.
Ford’s Interior Design
Consumer preferences are constantly evolving, changing, and progressing. It is up to auto manufacturers to harness those preferences, and offer the kinds of vehicles people want, when they want them. This includes everything from exterior and interior design, to safety features, to advanced technologies. Even more important? Finding a way to stand out from other automakers, who are striving to do the exact same thing.
Whatever Ford is doing, their strategy is working. The brand manages to not only keep their loyal customers coming back for more, but also continues to attract customers that are new to Ford Motor Company.
J.D. Power recently released its 2015 U.S. Avoider Study, which measures which factors are most important to car shoppers. The study found that a vehicle’s exterior and interior design are most highly considered by shoppers (30% of shoppers would avoid a vehicle based on exterior design alone, while 17% would move on to the next vehicle if they did not like the interior design). As such, interior design has become a major consideration for Ford’s designers and engineers.
“Vehicle interiors have witnessed one of the biggest evolutions across the history of cars in recent years,” said Raj Nair, Ford Motor Company group vice president, Global Product Development. “Not only have we introduced a great deal of useful new technology into our cars and trucks, we consistently are adding better materials, improved design and increased features across the board, from high-end vehicles to entry-level segments.”
Not just Ford’s appealing interior designs are attracting new Ford customers. Car shoppers consider fuel efficiency to be the most influential reason for choosing one car over another. Thanks to Ford’s EcoBoost engine lineup, shoppers can hardly justify passing up a Ford vehicle.
